Home | Our commitment

Now as it always has been, combining long-standing family traditions with the drive for innovation, we produce pasta, flour and locust bean gum as Nature intended. With a short and transparent supply chain, 100% Sicilian, the use of solar power, the recycling of hot water and environmentally-friendly, compostable and biodegradable packaging, we are continuously committed to respecting our planet and preserving its precious resources.

Permanently abandoning conventional production methods in favour of a form of production capable of respecting the environment and the biodiversity of Sicilian crops, we completely converted the production of flour and pasta to organic even before the creation of a relative European law, adhering to a voluntary certification process promoted by the French certification agency “Nature & Progrès” and obtaining organic certification as far back as 1989.

Generation after generation, we produce pasta and flour in complete harmony and respect for nature and its produce. With a short and transparent supply chain, the use of solar energy for milling - thanks to the photovoltaic panels on the roof of the original plant - and the recycling of hot water during the drying of pasta, we have drastically reduced our energy consumption and our environmental impact, rendering our production process one of the greenest in its category and our products a concentration of health and quality.

By favouring quality over the quantity offered by modern grains, we are committed to preserving and valorising the patrimony of Sicilian biodiversity, a regional and international heritage that has been saved from extinction thanks to the perseverance of our farmers who, in the most isolated of areas in the centre of the island, have continued - year after year - to plant the same grains instead of purchasing it from agricultural consortiums, thus maintaining these cultures pure, just as it was in the past.

Thanks to attentive research and development, we are now ready to bring to the tables of the world our most beautiful product: our genuine and authentic pasta in a 100% biodegradable and compostable package, to be disposed of with organic refuse. Same attention to environment that has give life to 100% recyclable paper pack for our Sicilian organic semolina pasta. Packages that bring an end forever to the use of plastic, to safeguard and pass on to future generations the precious resources of our planet that has given us so much. For what has been and for what will be.
