Calamarata is a typical shape of the Neapolitan cuisine belonging to the Paccheri and Mezze Maniche family. The name derives from the similarity that this pasta shape has with the squid rings with which it is traditionally paired, so much so that when the dish is served on the table it is difficult to distinguish pasta from fish.
